I am indebted to the blogmeister general Andrew Denny for sending me a link to a press report on the Tesco pet insurance claim story I mentioned here. The granny and I are agreed that the mawkish over-sentimentalising pouring from the pen of the local hack doesn't help the story that much. Is it really relevant that the poor chap has cancer? The focus on 'victim' merely obfuscates the key issue, which is Tesco, allegedly, trying to weasel their way out of fulfilling their obligations.
For a long time, the received wisdom was that you never knew how good your insurance company was until you had to make a claim. Now you can find out precisely how bad they are by Googling them.
